"This is a great opportunity to hear from municipalities of different sizes and gain clarity on who’s doing what, and what will benefit them the most. I’m particularly interested in exploring the broader technology landscape and sharing what we learn to support other municipalities."
Andrew Durnin, Director of Digital Services and IT, District of North Vancouver
"We’re already facing challenges with tracking and accessing information from our paper-based systems, so hearing and learning from others’ experiences will be invaluable as we prepare for a digital future."
Gary Buxton, Director of Planning and Community Services, City of Salmon Arm

FAQ
Learn more about the ClarityBC research project and upcoming survey launch.
This project aims to assess digital readiness in municipalities and regional districts across B.C. to help streamline the end-to-end housing production lifecycle.
We encourage IT, Planning, and other housing permit-related staff from all municipalities to participate in the survey to ensure a diverse range of insights and experiences.
The survey results and subsequent report can provide clarity on digital permitting processes and technologies—both those currently in use and areas for improvement—paving the way for more efficient housing approvals, development, and beyond.
Survey responses will only be accessible to our project team who is responsible for analyzing the data. No external parties will have access to individually-identifiable information.
All data collected will be securely stored in Canada and used exclusively for this research project.
By default, survey results will be aggregated and anonymized in reports. Any use and identification of individual responses will require your explicit consent.
Radical I/O Technology is leading the project in collaboration with its sister company SimpliCity Digital.
SimpliCity’s CMS will host the survey and ClarityBC project website, showcasing how its Canadian-built innovation is transforming digital services for municipalities.
Our municipal partners, the District of North Vancouver and the City of Salmon Arm, will provide insights into housing permitting processes from municipalities of different sizes and settings—one suburban and one rural. They will also advise on the survey design and final report.
If you subscribe to the ClarityBC project newsletter, you will be the first to receive the survey link when it launches in early May. You’ll also get ongoing project updates, including details about the final report this fall.
If you also subscribe to SimpliCity's newsletter, you’ll receive a monthly email with platform updates, company news, opportunities, and more.
The two newsletter lists are separate, and you can opt out at any time.
